Gargaon College organizes workshop on life skills education

The Department of Education, Gargaon College organized a workshop on ‘Life Skills for Personality Development’ in collaboration with the Internal Quality Assessment Cell on November 11 on the eve of the National Education Day.

SIVASAGAR: The Department of Education, Gargaon College organized a workshop on 'Life Skills for Personality Development' in collaboration with the Internal Quality Assessment Cell on November 11 on the eve of the National Education Day.

Dr Bidyananda Borkakoty, Head of the Department of Education, highlighted the objective of the workshop. The workshop was inaugurated and chaired by the Principal of Gargaon College, Dr Sabyasachi Mahanta. An eminent academic, poet and orator, Dr Mahanta spell bound the audience with his inaugural address wherein he highlighted the role and significance of Dr. Maulana Abul Kalam Azad to the field of education sector in India and the relevance of his ideas for present times. Dr. Rimjim Bora, Assistant Professor of Economics, as the resource person of the programme gave an enthralling presentation on the importance and the nuances of life skill development for personality development. The workshop was attended by more than 300 students apart from the faculty members from various departments. The programme was anchored by Dr. Nitali Borgohain Konwar, Assistant Professor of Education.
