Gauhati University Announces Half Day Leave For Employees To Watch 'The Kashmir Files'

Employees who wish to watch 'The Kashmir Files' can avail of half-day leave by taking prior permission and submitting movie tickets on the next day.

GUWAHATI: The Guwahati University in a recent notification announced a half-day leave to all employees to watch the film 'The Kashmir Files' which made a record-breaking box office collection.

This comes after the state chief minister Himanta Biswa Sarma allowed a half-holiday for all government employees to watch the same film in theatres.

In the notification by GU dated 23 March 2022, it stated that the employee can avail a half-day leave by obtaining prior permission from the concerned reporting authority.

It added that all the officers, teachers and employees of the university taking the special leave will have to submit their movie tickets on the next working day to his/her respective office.

The decision of availing half-day leave to GU employees has been taken by approval of the Vice-Chancellor of University dated Tuesday 22 March 2022.

It may be mentioned that 'The Kashmir Files' directed and written by Vivek Agnihotri starring Anupam Kher as the emotional core has become the most talk about the movie at present and gained huge success in the box office.

Apart from Anupam Kher 'The Kashmir Files' also casts Mithun Chakraborty, Pallavi Joshi, Mrinal Kulkarni, Darshan Kumaar and Puneet Issar.

Most notably, the film has entered the Rupees 200 crore club as per its latest figure on box office i.e. 200.13 crores. TKF remained unstoppable in the box office since its release on 11 March.

On Thursday 24 March, the film has broken the records made by the previous films and became the highest-grossing Bollywood film during the period of the global pandemic COVID-19.

The film started with Rupees 3.55 crore on its opening day and continued to increase the number every week with notable change.

The historical thriller depicting the 1990 insurgency and Kashmiri Pandit's migration has succeeded in touching the heart of the audience in large which led it to earn such a profit.
