BISWANATH CHARIALI: A joint team of WWF and forest personnel saw a gharial at Gorpal area under the Sixth Addition of the Kaziranga National Park (KNP) on Thursday, creating much enthusiasm among the nature lovers.
According to information, WWF official Tridip Sarmah and the personnel of Borgang floating camp of KNP were roaming around 11 am in the area in a motor boat and suddenly the gharial came to their notice. However, the creature disappeared in the deep water of the Brahmaputra River when the team tried to approach the chapori where it was taking rest. A tourist reportedly spotted a gharial in the area a few days ago. The forest department is trying to find clues about the gharial.
