LAKHIMPUR: The bridge over the River Subansiri at Ghunasuti under the Lakhimpur district will be constructed with the investment of a fund amounting to Rs. 315.88 crores. The construction of the bridge will be completed within three years.
The Government of Assam published a tender on Thursday for the construction of bridge with approaches and 5-year post construction performance based maintenance under SOPD 2022-23 on EPC mode under package no. AM/SOPD/2022-23/1. The closing and opening date of the tender is November 28. The qualified bidder will start the construction work of the bridge from the next year as per report found. The Government of Assam has approved the construction of the 2.4 km bridge over the river for Rs 383.67 crore at Ghunasuti in order to connect Lakhimpur town with Bebejia under Dhakuakhana subdivision. The decision in this connection was taken at the State Government's 50th Cabinet meeting which was held in Tezpur on June 11.
