Ghy Rave Party Case: Family Of Bishal Choudhury Files Case Against Police For Fake Encounter

According to reports the father of Bishal filed the case with Chief Judicial magistrate's court as well session court against the police alleging it as a fake encounter.

The encounter took place in Noonmati, Guwahati. Bishal received bullet injuries on his leg and currently undergoing treatment in Gauhati Medical College and Hospital.

The hearing of the case filed by Bishal's family is scheduled on Monday.

Earlier, Six persons accused in the infamous Kharguli 'rave' party have been granted bail by the Gauhati High Court. However, the High Court has rejected 5 other bail pleas. On August 13, the police had arrested 6 people on the grounds of consuming cocaine at the birthday party of Amit Baruah in one of the flats of Riveria Apartment in the Kharguli Hills of Guwahati. According to the police, a rave party had been organised in the flat.

The police have detained 19 persons in connecting to the case. 12 of the accused have applied for bail and are currently in judicial custody. According to the Guwahati City Commissioner of Police, Harmeet Singh, the party organiser Vikas Jain and 17 other guests were caught possessing four kilograms of cocaine and different varieties of weed and were arrested by the police. The supplier of drugs, Bishal Chaudhary, who is also the prime accused in the case was arrested by the police in Delhi on August 28.

Bishal Chaudhary was shot in the leg on September 4 after he tried to flee from police custody and is currently undergoing treatment in Gauhati Medical College and Hospital. Commissioner of Police Harmeet Singh also added that in addition to buying, selling and consuming drugs, the accused had also violated COVID-19 protocol and had gathered in huge numbers, acting against the order of the Assam government.
