KOKRAJHAR: The president of Bodoland People's Front (BPF) and former BTC chief Hagrama Mohilary on Monday urged the Governor of Assam to give BPF a chance to show its number to stake claim to form the next BTC government.

In a letter to the Governor, Mohilary said that the BPF was the single largest party as it secured 17 of 40 seats in the recently declared result of the 4th BTC general election.

He said there were independent and like-minded candidates and BPF was in a position to show its majority strength in the floor test. He also said that as per the parliamentary system, the single largest party should be given first chance to show its number strength on the floor to form the next government.
