GOALPARA: Along with rest of the nation, the Goalpara district committee of Communist Party of India (Marxist) observed ‘Solidarity Divas’ on Wednesday and called for immediate end of the Israel-Hamas war. The party cadres, including its students and women wings, gathered at the Hasila beel bus stand of the town and displayed flags etc. shouting slogan against the ongoing war.
Speaking in front of the media persons, Nani Das, district secretary of CPI (M) said, “We express our solidarity with the people of Palestine and condole the death of innocent people and loss of life and prosperity.”
Das further said, “Israel, with the help of warmonger America is killing the innocent women and children which should immediately be stopped.” He alleged that basic human rights have been violated in the war, supply of food and drinking water has been halted, hospitals were bombarded leading to a total catastrophe. Das expressed grave concern that already this war is negatively impacting the world economy and might lead to the third world war also.
