Goalpara police arrested five persons for staging protest against new agricultural laws

At least three frontline activists associated with the leftist organizations and two others were arrested by Goalpara police for staging protest on Saturday against the new agricultural laws.

GOALPARA: At least three frontline activists associated with the leftist organizations and two others were arrested by Goalpara police for staging protest on Saturday against the new agricultural laws.

The first three activists are associated with the political organizations CPI (M) and CPI. They are Soilen Das, veteran CPI leader, Noni Das, district secretary of the CPI (M), and Parvez Ali, leader of the youth organization.

Among the two others, one is reportedly a general member and the other is an e-rickshaw puller. Sources claimed that all of them were later released on personal bond.
