Golaghat District Admin to Lift COVID-19 Lockdown on Friday

Addressing a press meet, Deputy Commissioner of Golaghat, Mrigesh Narayan Baruah said that the COVID-19 situation will be stable in one week.

GUWAHATI: The Golaghat lockdown will be lifted from Friday as the COVID-19 situation in the district is improving.

Meanwhile, all kinds of shops and business establishments will be open from tomorrow.

Addressing a press meet, Deputy Commissioner of Golaghat, Mrigesh Narayan Baruah said that the COVID-19 situation will be stable in one week.

Earlier, the district administration of Golaghat extended the Covid lockdown till July 15.

The Golaghat administration issued a notification to the people of the district where they announced that the lockdown has been extended till July 15.

The extension in the lockdown is decided by the administration keeping in view the present covid situation in the state to contain the spread of virus in the district.

The district is under complete lockdown. All shops including retail, vegetable, and fruit shops except pharmacies remained closed.

On the other hand, Mrigesh Narayan Barua also visited the COVID Care Centre at Uriamghat in Sarupathar along with Kishan Jyoti Deka, border magistrate of Dhansiri Subdivision on Wednesday.

The DC reviewed the arrangements and facilities provided to the COVID-19 patients in the COVID Care Centre. He also randomly called some of the COVID-19 patients of Sarupathar and took stock of their health.

The DC also reviewed the COVID-19 situation of the Dhansiri subdivision at the Conference Hall of SDO(C) office, Sarupathar under the Golaghat district. He said that Golaghat district will remain in the 'Containment Zone' for one more day i,e., July 15, adding that all the grocery shops will also remain closed on July 15.

The Sub-divisional Circle Officer, border magistrate along all Magistrates were present at the meeting in Sarupathar.
