Government officials asked to ensure efficient delivery of public services

SILCHAR: Member of Parliament Dr Rajdeep Roy chaired the district development coordination monitoring committee meeting, ‘Disha’, at the conference hall of DC office here on Monday to review the status and progress under central programme in the Cachar district.

MLA Silchar Dipayan Chakraborty, MLA, Udharbandh Mihir Kanti Shome, President of Cachar Zilla School, Amitabh Rai, Deputy Commissioner Rohan Kumar Jha, Chief executive officer Zilla Parishad, Ranjit Kumar Laskar , District Development Commissioner, Rajib Roy, members of ‘Disha’ committee besides other concerned district officials were present in the meeting. At the outset, MP Dr Rajdeep Roy reviewed the action taken on the decisions of the previous meeting.

The MP took the comprehensive review of physical and financial achievements like MGNREGA, PMGSY ,Amrit Sarovar ,MPLADS , Ayushman Bharat , Swachh Bharat etc. The MP also reviewed the achievements under the schemes implemented by PWD, Jal Jivan Mission, APDCL, Agriculture, Health and others. A powerpoint presentation was also presented on the achievements and progress being executed in the district by different agencies.

In the meeting, MP Dr Rajdeep Roy asked the district social welfare officer to take proper care of child birth, pregnant women and expedite Nesha Mukta Bharat Abhiyan in the district, he instructed health officials to provide all-around health care facilities and adequate medicines to be made available in government as well as in TB hospitals.

Dr Roy also asked Food & Civil Supplies department to ensure proper checking of BPL and APL cards so that actual beneficiaries should get the benefits and asked to submit the report. The MP asked the PHE officials to ensure smooth supply of drinking water in the district and to produce work progress certificate. In the meeting, APDCL was asked to complete the installation work of smart meter in the district, stated a press release.
