GUWAHATI:
Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal on Tuesday laid the foundation stone of
infrastructure development project of Kali Mandir and Shitala Mandir under
Assam Darshan Scheme at Lumding. It many be noted that under the scheme both
the infrastructural projects have been granted Rs. 10 lakh each.
On the other hand, Chief Minister Sonowal during his visit to the town, paid a visit to Lumding Namghar, paid obeisance and addressed the devotees. Speaking on the occasion, Sonowal said that government of Assam under Assam Darshan Scheme is committed to protect and promote temples, xatra, devalaya, etc.
He also said that Srimanta Sankaradeva had enriched the lives of the people of Assam. He also said that the teachings of the Vaishnavite saint are embedded with the virtues of humanity. He also announced that the present State government has taken steps for making an academically, socially, culturally and intellectually robust state. He also said that his government, since 2016 has been taking steps for the empowerment of all sections of the people. He said that empowered people can make the State developed.
At a time when the entire State is going through an unprecedented situation because of COVID 19 pandemic, Chief Minister Sonowal urged upon the people to adhere to safety protocols, wear masks, maintain adequate personal distances and fight against the pandemic, stated a press release.
