SILCHAR: There might be divided opinion over the efficacy of plasma therapy. But, medical experts agree a COVID-19 patient if administered plasma therapy in time is sure to get positive result and arrest him or her from sinking into morbid condition. This has been amply proved at Silchar Medical College and Hospital where after the introduction of plasma therapy, death rate has declined to minimal. What has boosted up the dedicated team of doctors and nurses taking care of the COVID-19 patients at this premier medical college is the donation of plasma by civilians and military and paramilitary forces' jawans to the blood bank.

Here is one of the donors Rajdeep Singh (23), young and brave, a medical representative by profession, who has volunteered to come forward to help the COVID-19 patients and save their life. Call it his yeoman services or his inner voice which has prompted him to the great human cause. Rajdeep remembers the words of former President of India Dr APJ Abdul Kalam who said, "Society has given enough to us. Always think what we can give to society." The young boy donated plasma twice within a month, inspiring others to donate. Rajdeep is the son of well known Sudip Kumar Singh, photo journalist of Silchar.
