KOKRAJHAR: Gurudev Kalicharan Brahma Trust (GKBT) has decided to confer the 3rd Gurudev Kalicharan Brahma Award, 2021 to noted writer, academician, Padma Shri award winner and former Bodo Sahitya Sabha (BSS) president Dr. Kameswar Brahma for his outstanding contributions and research on Gurudev's life and dedication.
The secretary of the GKBT, Dr. Ajit Boro said that the decision to confer the Gurudev Kalicharan Brahma award to Dr. Kameswar Brahma was taken in a meeting of the trust held recently under the president ship of Rakheswar Brahma, the president of the trust. He said the award would be given to Dr. Brahma on the basis of his contribution toward2s the development of philosophy of Gurudev in particular and for his vast contributions in the field of literature and society. He has several books to his credit and was the retired Principal of Gossaigaon College. He was associated with the Bodo Sahitya Sabha for years and became the president.
Boro said that the award would be conferred on Dr. Kameswar Brahma on the occasion of the celebration of Gurudev's 162 birth anniversary to be held at Gauhati University on April 18. The award will carry a memento of Gurudev and Rs. 50,000 along with citation.
Sources said that the chief of BTC, Pramod Boro would attend the award-giving ceremony as the chief guest while the Vice-Chancellor of Gauhati University, Dr. Pratap Jyoti Handique would be the special guest.
