GUWAHATI: In a groundbreaking move to revolutionize urban transportation, Guwahati's first-ever app-based city cab service, 'ASTC City Cab,' officially launched its operations on Wednesday. Assam Transport Minister, Parimal Suklabaidya, took to Twitter to announce the commencement of the service, expressing the pride of the Government of Assam in introducing their very own cab service to the streets of Guwahati.

Reports indicate that ASTC City Cab promises trustworthiness and affordability, as customers can avail themselves of the service with low fares and zero cancellation charges. The user-friendly app enables seamless booking for a comfortable and secure ride experience, making it a preferred choice for commuters in the city.

The 'ASTC City Cab' service underwent a successful trial run for a month after its grand launch on June 26, gaining valuable insights and feedback from users to refine its operations before the official launch. With the successful trial period, the app is now available for download, empowering customers to enjoy the benefits of this innovative cab service.

One of the key highlights of ASTC City Cab is its commitment to supporting drivers in the region. Drivers joining the platform will not have to pay any commission for each ride, except for a nominal fee of Rs. 12.50 per day. This driver-friendly approach aims to enhance their earning potential and encourage more drivers to join the service, ensuring ample availability for customers across the city.

ASTC City Cab aims to cater to a wide range of transportation needs, extending its services up to the Lokpriya Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport (LGBI). Passengers can now avail long-distance transportation with the utmost convenience and safety, adding to the service's versatility and reliability.

Safety remains a top priority for ASTC City Cab, with a range of features to protect both drivers and passengers. The app is equipped with a Panic Button for emergencies, allowing immediate assistance in critical situations. Moreover, the Hotline Button for Airport trips enables swift access to airport-related queries. An AI Chatbot Helpdesk further enhances customer support by addressing inquiries promptly.

With the launch in full swing, drivers can now register on the app and start offering their services to commuters. Simultaneously, passengers can download the app, eagerly anticipating the exceptional travel experience ASTC City Cab promises to provide after its successful trial period.

In conclusion, ASTC City Cab's introduction marks a significant milestone in Guwahati's transportation landscape, providing residents with a reliable, cost-effective, and feature-rich cab service. With the government's commitment to service quality and driver welfare, ASTC City Cab is poised to transform how people travel within the city and beyond.
