No human casualties have been reported as of yet, sources claim. The fire, which reduced 10 residences to ashes, destroyed property worth several lakhs. Locals were informed that it is thought that the kitchen is where the fire started.

Firefighters from the Inter-State Bus Terminus (ISBT) fire station, however, were dispatched right away. According to sources, they were able to put out the flames, but it took some time for them to completely contain them.

Additionally, the Maligaon Police and Jalukbari Police arrived quickly.

Additionally, a significant fire broke out on the same day in the Lahorijaan neighbourhood near Bokajan in Assam's Karbi Anglong district, which is also near the Assam-Nagaland border.

The fire caused numerous cylinders to burst, according to the authorities. The fire also damaged three motorcycles and one four-wheeler. According to Bokajan's Sub-Divisional Police Officer (SDPO), John Das, there were no recorded casualties in the incident.

"Firefighters have arrived at the scene and are attempting to put out the flames. At least 100 homes, businesses, and shops have sustained damage as a result of the fire "said John Das. Police assumed that a short circuit was what started the fire.

In a related instance, Another huge fire broke out earlier in the month of October in the neighborhood of Maligaon which destroyed property worth about Rs 5 lakh. Sources claim that the fire started at Gautam Basfor's home in Maligaon, close to the Central Gotanagar Railway Cooperative.

Sources claimed that an earthen lamp that had been lit in the house initially started the fire. Two further apartments close to the one where the fire started were also affected by the fire. As per the sources, three firefighters put out the flames as soon as they arrived at the place.
