GUWAHATI: With the state witnessing a gradual decrease in the number of coronavirus positive cases, the North East Frontier Railway (NFR) has taken the decision of resuming the services of daily express train between Guwahati and Naharlagun from September 1.
As per reports, the train will run with LHB (Linke Hofmann Busch) coaches between Guwahati and Naharlagun, Arunachal Pradesh. Short-distance travelers are expected to be benefited because of the resumption of the train service with LHB coaches.
According to data available, the Guwahati-Naharlagun Train Number 05617 will start from Guwahati railway station at 9.20 pm and will reach Naharlagun at 4.25 am. The train will have 15 coaches. The NF Railway has also informed about the same via a tweet.
In the return direction, Train No 05618 Naharlagun-Guwahati express will start from Naharlagun at 7.50 pm and will arrive at Guwahati the next day at 4.25 am.
The NF Railway has resumed a number of trains in the Northeast region in the past few weeks. These include three three intercity special trains which became operational after August 15. The service of Agartala-Bangalore Cant. summer special up to February 2022 and Secunderabad-Agartala weekly special was also extended for five more trips.
Among these, Train No. 05769/05770 Alipurduar Junction-Lumding Junction-Alipurduar Junction daily intercity special became operational from August 17. It begins the journey from Alipurduar Junction at 3:45 am and reaches Lumding Junction at 1:40 pm.
In return journey, Train No. 05770 Lumding Junction-Alipurduar Junction intercity special starts from Lumding Junction at 3:05 pm and reaches Alipurduar Junction at 12:50 am on the next day. Besides, the extension of the services of Train No. 02984/02983 Agartala-Bangalore Cant.- Agartala summer special has been done up to February 2022.
