GUWAHATI: Guwahati Police hits an interstate drugs network yet again!
As per police, a consignment of 20 thousand bottles of Anrex cough syrup has been seized while it was being transported by truck from Punjab to Manipur.
With the seizure, police were able to nab two persons who belongs to Muradabad in Uttar Pradesh.
"Minimum price of the cough syrup is said to be 500/- per bottle, however, more than the price the quantity is important which is one the largest in cough syrup segment," police added.
Earlier in the month of May, an inter-state network of drug trafficking was busted and 30,000 bottles of Phensydyl cough syrup were seized by Guwahati Police.
The operation was led by Partha Sarathi Mahanta, Joint Commissioner of Police, Guwahati, at Nizarapar, Pacchim Boragaon under Gorchuk PS. Police arrested three accused, namely Mridul Malakar (40) of Pachim Boragaon under Garchuk Police Station; Majibur Rahman of 2 no. Larkuchi village under Mukalmua PS in Nalbari district; and Hafijur Rahman (38) of 1 no. Larkuchi village under Mukalmua PS in Nalbari district, in this connection.
