GUWAHATI: In anticipation of Congress MP Rahul Gandhi's Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra scheduled for today, the Guwahati Traffic Police has implemented specific traffic regulations to mitigate potential congestion along the designated route.
The yatra, led by Rahul Gandhi, is expected to traverse through key areas, including Jorabat-Khanapara-Basistha Chariali-Lakhara-Gorchuk-Jalukbari, posing the likelihood of traffic disruptions, particularly on National Highway 27 (NH- 27) from Khanapara to Jalukbari.
To ensure smooth movement of vehicles and not cause any major inconvenience to the public, the Guwahati Traffic Police strongly advises the public to stay away from the designated section on NH - 27 between Khanapara, Jalukbari and Rotary in the morning.
Another recommended road for travelers during this period is GS Road. The advisory comes as a priority measure by authorities to prevent traffic congestion and ensure the safety of all road users.
The Bharat Jodo Nyaya Yatra will attract huge crowds, likely to cause delays and congested routes. Commuters are advised to plan their travel accordingly and choose the GS Road route as a convenient alternative to NH-27 during the specified hours to avoid rush.
The new route is expected to improve traffic flow and reduce the chances of delays for those traveling in and around Guwahati. The Guwahati Traffic Police also encourages the public to stay updated with real-time traffic information through official channels such as social media and traffic advisory forums.
The Guwahati Traffic Police further has also circulated information in the media and traffic advisory platforms, for any last-minute changes or updates related to the yatra.
The cooperation of the general public is critical to ensuring the safety and efficiency of traffic management as a whole. The Guwahati Traffic Police has ensured and worked to ease traffic flow as it hosts the scheduled Bharat Jodo Nyaya Yatra led by Rahul Gandhi.
