HAFLONG: Considering the present COVID situation in Dima Hasao and as a Rongali Bihu gift, the Haflong Civil Hospital is getting mobile RT-PCR test lab and two more 108 Ambulances and other facilities, informed Dr Dipali Barman, Joint Director, Dima Hasao Health Services, on Friday.

Dr Barman, while interacting with media persons, disclosed that the Principal Secretary to the Government of Assam, Health & Family Welfare Department, Samir Sinha was on a two-day maiden visit to Haflong on Thursday and Friday.

On Thursday, he held a meeting with the Dima Hasao medical officials wherein Sinha assured them to provide two new 108 ambulances and to replace four old ambulances. Haflong Civil Hospital has 10 ambulances but most of them are old. He also assured to transfer three doctors who are now working in Karbi Anglong and willing to come to Dima Hasao. Dr Barman also informed that for the time being, a mobile RT-PCR test lab would be provided to Haflong Civil Hospital. The tests are done at Silchar Medical College or at Diphu Medical College which makes it difficult to get the test results on time.

On Friday, Sinha visited Haflong Civil Hospital (HCH) and assured that some more facilities would be provided to HCH in fighting COVID in the district.
