HAFLONG: Acting on specific information, the Haflong police conducted raids at Jatinga and other places of Haflong on Thursday night wherein five youths were apprehended and 281 full containers and 250 empty containers were recovered from them. About 80 gm of suspected heroin was also recovered.
Dima Hasao Superintendent of Police, Jayant Sing said that use of drugs was quite rampant in the district and police were on vigil to apprehend such peddlers as well as users. The apprehended youths were identified as Marcil Suchiang (21), Thalrendew Naiding (19), Rahul Suchiang (24), Kalianmuan Leinthang (24) and Bishal Dey (22).
