HAFLONG: Following persuasion of the All Dimasa Students' Union and Haflong Merchant Association, all the traders of Haflong have decided to bring down the prices of essentials in order to provide some respite to common people during this pandemic and subsequent lockdown.

The ADSU and HMA have been holding series of discussions with saloon owners and traders dealing in grocery, vegetables, fish and meat, and appealed to the traders to bring down the price of essentials considering the difficulties faced by people during this pandemic. After prolonged discussion, almost all the traders dealing in grocery, vegetables, fish and meat agreed to bring down the prices on humanitarian ground and assured that they would not take any advantage of the situation, rather would feel fortunate to be able to help people in this situation. Traders dealing in fish and meat further said they would reduce the rate of mutton when normalcy returned.

Uttam Langthasa, president of ADSU district committee, while expressing satisfaction over the traders' decision of reducing the prices of essential items, said they were grateful to the Haflong Merchant Association and also to the traders of Haflong market.
