KOKRAJHAR: As the State assembly election is nearing, the war of words between political leaders has started. The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), United People's Party Liberal (UPPL) and Bodoland People's Front (BPF) are busy with their poll agenda and campaigning.

The chief of BTR and UPPL president, Pramod Boro on Monday said that the magic of BPF president Hagrama Mohilary would not work in this election as the people of the region had come to know the real face of Mohilary and his team.

Talking to mediapersons, Boro said that Mohilary was part of the Congress-led coalition government in Assam for two terms but joined hands with the BJP in the last assembly election. He said that Mohilary used to attack the Congress after he joined the BJP and now he was training his guns on the BJP soon after joining the Congress-led grand alliance. He questioned whether the BJP was clean only when he was part of the BJP-led coalition and whether the Congress had become transparent after he joined the grand alliance. He also said that Mohilary was involved in massive corruption in BTC and people had come to know about it.

Boro said that Mohilary would field candidates in 12 seats in BTR but his party would not win from any seat as people of the region had lost faith in the BPF. "Mohilary is confident about winning with minority votes but it is not so easy because the voters of the minority community have understood how Mohilary had deceived people in the last 17 years," he said, adding that Mohilary's magic would no longer work this time.

The UPPL president said that his party would field candidates in all seats in BTR and would discuss about seats outside BTR. He said that they would win in all seats of BTR, besides playing a major role outside BTR with the coalition partners to ensure the formation of the next government.
