Hailakandi district administration launched project to curb road accidents

HAILAKANDI: The Hailakandi district administration in association with the District Transport Office has swung into action by strictly enforcing use of helmets to reduce road fatalities in the district.

As part of the move, the district transport authorities with directive from Deputy Commissioner cum Chairperson, District Road Safety Committee (DRSC), Megh Nidhi Dahal has decided to involve the members of the public to act as 'traffic suraksha enforcers' under a project Traffic Suraksha.

"Any person can provide information about traffic rules violation by posting photos at the traffic suraksha hotline WhatsApp No.9954546010," said District Transport Officer cum Member-Secretary DRSC, Syed Rafiqul Mannan, adding that action is being initiated against the two-wheeler riders for not wearing helmet.
