HAILAKANDI: The district administration has lifted the closure order on barber shops, salons and parlours by allowing it to function only for hair trimming purpose. In an order issued to this effect on Wednesday, District Development Commissioner cum Incharge CEO, DDMA, Vikram Dev Sharma said the ban order on barber shops, salons and parlours following the detection of COVID-19 positive cases has been lifted and they are now allowed to operate for hair trimming purpose only.

The order stated that the barber shops and parlours have to maintain detail records of customers along with their addresses and contact numbers. Moreover, the order directed the owners of these shops to ensure sanitisation, use of mask and to adhere strictly to social distancing norms. "Any violation of the order will attract legal action under the Disaster Management Act, 2005," the order stated. The shops will remain open from 7 am to 5 pm from Monday to Friday. The order that has come into force with effect from Thursday will continue to remain so until further orders.
