Hailakandi sends projects worth Rs. 14 crore to NITI Aayog for approval

HAILAKANDI: A crucial meeting of Special Purpose Vehicle notified under the guidelines of Externally Aided Projects-Sustainable Development Goals (EAP-SDG) towards the Aspirational District Programme was held here on Tuesday.

Chairing a meeting at his office conference hall with district heads and senior officials of concerned departments, Deputy Commissioner, Megh Nidhi Dahal reviewed the ongoing projects sanctioned under Externally Aided Projects such as Kanya Taru Yojana, Drishti, Arthik Swadhinata Kendra, Happy School, etc. The meeting discussed threadbare the new project proposals submitted by various departments against the additional allocation received under the Challenge Method by the district from NITI Aayog.

Projects which will have great impact on the Key Performing Indicators such as upgradation of sub-centres into health & wellness centre; PHCs compliant to IPHS norms; construction of Anganwadi centres, etc were approved by the house.

Assistant Commissioner, Parikshit Phukan disclosed that projects worth Rs.14 crore were sent to NITI Aayog for Committee for final approval by the Empowered Committee of Secretaries constituted for the Aspirational Districts Programme. It may be mentioned that the policy think-tank allocated an additional Rs 8 crore to the district for securing a good overall Delta ranking through the Challenge Method for the month of January-February 2020.
