RANGIA: A devastating hailstorm lashed in the entire North Kamrup damaging thousands of thatched and Assam-type houses in the villages Lachi Balisatra, Bishnupur, Niteni, Dadotia, Katrakhat, Kendukona, Duhibala, Koniha Jayantipur, Kamalpur under Rangia subdivision and different places of Hajo on Wednesday night.
Big-sized hailstones fell on the roofs of the houses. Household goods and paddy fields were damaged due to the hailstorm. One Thaneswar Mali, aged about 65 years, was injured seriously and admitted in the hospital. Due to the hailstorm, many trees and electrical posts were uprooted and electricity supply was disrupted.
