Headmaster of Apeejay Tea Limited Budlabheta ME School killed in accident

Pankaj Bhattacharya (52), Headmaster of Apeejay Tea Limited Budlabheta ME School, met with an accident when he fell off from the scooty he was driving after hitting a pile of sand kept on road side for construction of the drain on Doomdooma - Phillobari road under Doomdooma PS on Wednesday night.

DOOMDOOMA: Pankaj Bhattacharya (52), Headmaster of Apeejay Tea Limited Budlabheta ME School, met with an accident when he fell off from the scooty he was driving after hitting a pile of sand kept on road side for construction of the drain on Doomdooma - Phillobari road under Doomdooma PS on Wednesday night. According to reports, Bhattacharya who is a resident of Rupbon on the outskirts of the town, was returning home after attending a wedding party at Budlabheta TE on that fateful night. He was immediately taken to Doomdooma 30 Bedded FRU (Hospital). But the doctors there declared him to be brought dead. It is alleged that no traffic sign with regard to ongoing construction of the drain was on the road to caution the commuters and vehicle riders. Bhattacharya was an active member of Assam Chah Karmachari Sangha (ACKS), Doomdooma Branch and represented it in the said Trade Union’s general council meeting.
