GOLAGHAT: On the occasion of International Women’s Day, Rotary Club of Golaghat organized a health check-up and medical aid camp successfully at Shantir Aloy Briddhashram, an old-age home for women on Wednesday in the morning.
All the inmates of the old-age home were checked by a medical team comprising doctors, laboratory technician and support staff of state health department. Rotarian Dr. Prasanta Pratim Gogoi, who led the medical team, provided entire medical support. Necessary blood tests were also done on the spot. Besides, necessary arrangements were made to provide all the medicines prescribed in the camp to the inmates of the centre. Rotary Club of Golaghat further celebrated International Women’s Day jointly with Rotary Community Corps (RCC) of Athgaon Chariali in association with Athgaon Chariali Sports Association & Library. An awareness lecture and interactive session on domestic violence was also part of the programme. The programme was largely attended by local people, invited guests, Rotarians and members of the RCC and Athgaon Chariali Sports Association & Library.
