TINSUKIA: How far is the health department in Tinsukia responsive enough to tackle the surging COVID cases in Tinsukia district, especially when positive patients are venturing out freely in the neighbourhood and market without being tagged even after 4-5 days of detection? This is one of the underlying reasons for spike in positive cases in Tinsukia, particularly asymptomatic cases.

The positive patients whose names figured in the list reportedly told the neighbours that they were not aware of the results nor had the health department communicated with them, let alone demarcating the areas as containment zones. These patients reportedly have not applied for home isolation either. Most intriguingly, the health department of District Health Society has allegedly not responded even after being informed by the officials of the district administration on several occasions.

Though the health department has been facing difficulties in coping with the situation with the increasing number of positive cases, one also fails to understand why the health officials in Tinsukia have allegedly adopted a lackadaisical attitude while dealing with COVID positive cases.
