Health Minister Keshav Mahanta visits Odisha train accident victim’s residence

State Health Minister Keshav Mahanta visited Rupak Das’ residence on Sunday evening. Mahanta interacted with Rupak’s parents and informed the family about the youth’s health. He also informed the family about the measures taken by the government.

BISWANATH CHARIALI: State Health Minister Keshav Mahanta visited Rupak Das’ residence on Sunday evening. Mahanta interacted with Rupak’s parents and informed the family about the youth’s health. He also informed the family about the measures taken by the government. It needs mention here that Rupak Das, a youth from Morol gaon village under Biswanath Chariali police station, was injured in the train mishap in Odisha. Minister Keshav Mahanta was accompanied by Biswanath MLA Pramod Borthakur. Meanwhile, State Government Additional Director of Medical Education Ranbir Borah and Joint Director of Medical Education Dr Syed Tanvir Alam visited the hospital to help railway passenger Rupak Das where he is undergoing treatment.

Minister Mahanta also had a telephonic conversation with Rupak from his home at Morol gaon. During a phone contact with Rupak Das, the Health Minister had informed him about Chief Minister Dr Sarma’s directive on behalf of the Assam government to provide necessary assistance to him. Later talking to media persons, the minister said a decision on whether to bring Rupak to Assam or be treated in Odisha will be taken only after the team takes stock of the health of Rupak Das, who is at a hospital in Odisha.
