Golaghat: The students’ union of Hemo Prova Borborah Girls’ College in Golaghat protested against the Citizenship (Amendment) Bill on Wednesday. Hundreds of students of the college raised slogans against the Narendra Modi-led Central Government and Sarbananda Sonowal-led State Government for trying to make the Bill into an Act. They also burnt the copies of this proposed legislation. Hemo Prova Borborah Girls’ College Students’ Union president Dwakhya Saditya Ahom and secretary Ponkhi Nath stated that if the government did not show any response towards their demand to scrap CAB, then the government would have to face severe protest from the student fraternity.
