Heroin seized, two arrested by Diphu Police

Diphu Police arrested two persons and recovered 37 grams of heroin from the drug smugglers from a location of Assam Nagaland border

HOWRAGHAT: Diphu Police arrested two persons and recovered 37 grams of heroin from the drug smugglers from a location of Assam Nagaland border on Wednesday. The value of the seized drugs has been assessed to be 2.50 lakh rupees. According to police, one auto rickshaw bearing registration number NL07F7830 coming from Dimapur city of Nagaland was intercepted at Siding locality under Dhansiri Police Station.

The two occupant of the auto rickshaw identified as Asadul Islam and Phulkon Ali were thoroughly searched, police picked up five soap cases containing heroin from them. Both have been arrested.

Drug smugglers are using the new route which connects Dimapur with small localities of Karbi Anglong like Siding, Rangapahar, Dhansiri, Daldali and Diphu for transporting narcotic substances.
