DEMOW: State Finance Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma campaigned for Thowra Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) candidate Kushal Dowari at Nitaipukhuri Public Playground on Sunday.
Addressing the gathering, Sarma said, "I have heard that many women of Sivasagar, Dibrugarh and Tinsukia districts have taken loan from micro finance companies." He appealed to them not to take loan in future and said that those who could not repay the loan need not worry as the government would take care of the loans amount.
He said that in Thowra LAC, 16,000 women had benefitted from the Arunodoi scheme and he assured that every poor family would be brought under the Arunodoi scheme. He said that the financial assistance under the Arunodoi scheme would be increased from Rs.830 to Rs.3000 in a month. He also promises 1 lakh jobs to unemployed youths by March 2022. He said that unlike during the Congress government's rule when people had to give bribe to get jobs, under the BJP government's rule people were getting jobs on merit. Sarma appealed to the voters to vote for Thowra BJP candidate Kushal Dowari. He assured that in Thowra LAC one BSc Nursing College and GNM School would be opened.
