Guwahati: Assam finance and health minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has lauded the candidates from Assam who cleared the highly-competitive Civil Service exams conducted by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC).
"My heartiest congratulations to Assam's Aranyak Saikia (59 rank), Sizal Agarwal (112 rank), Nivedita Dutta (697 rank), Tapan Deka (766 rank), Kishore Sutradhar (784 rank) and all other youngsters who qualified for the prestigious #CivilServices today. Blessings and wishes", Biswa Sarma wrote in a tweet.
This year, at least 5 candidates from the Northeast Indian state of Assam have been able to clear the "mother of all examinations" in India. Aranyak Saikia, who secured the 59th position, has emerged as the topper from Assam in the UPSC Civil Services 2019. Nivedita Dutta hailing from Jorhat has bagged the 697th position while Tapan Deka and Kishore Sutradhar have bagged the 766th and 784th positions respectively.
Amid mounting anticipation, the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) finally revealed the names of the candidates who have successfully cleared the UPSC Civil Services 2019.
Pradeep Singh has emerged as the topper in the Civil Services Exams 2019. Jatin Kishore and Pratibha Verma have been ranked 2nd and 3rd, respectively. Himanshu Jain has received the fourth rank, while Jaydev C S stood fifth. Visakha Yadav ranked 6th, Ganesh Kumar Baskar stood 7th, Abhishek Saraf stood 8th, Ravi Jain stood 9th, while Sanjita Mohapatra stood 10th.
This list has been released today, in order of merit, for the candidates who cleared the exams. The written part of the Civil Services examination 2019 was held by the UPSC in September of last year and the interviews for the Personality Test were conducted in February-August of this year.
The list of candidates has been recommended for appointment to the Indian Administrative Service, Indian Foreign Service, the Indian Police Service, and the Central Services Group 'A' and Group 'B'.
