Himanta Biswa Sarma Visits Constituency, Temples Before being Sworn-In as 15th Assam CM

BJP National President J P Nadda likely to attend swearing-in, Chief Ministers of the Northeastern states to attend

Guwahati: Himanta Biswa Sarma began the day by visiting the Ishwar Sri Sri Hati Satra in his constituency Jalukbari. He offered prayers and sought the blessings of the people of his constituency on a day when he will be sworn in as the next Chief Minister of Assam. The Deka Satradhikar of the Satra (Vashnavite monastery or temple) blessed the 52-year-old CM who would be sworn in in a short while from now.

Himanta Biswa has won from Jalukbari for 5 times – 2001, 2006, 2011, 2016 and 2021.

The CM-designate then visited the Doul Gobinda temple in the heart of the mighty Brahmaputra, he then sought blessings at the Kamakhya Temple. After that, he headed to his residence before driving to Srimanta Sarkardev Kalakshetra in Guwahati for the swearing-in ceremony.

Prayers were also offered at Poa Mecca in Hajo for good health and a successful term of Sarma. The Khadim offered 'Duwa' on behalf of the CM-designate.

Prayers are being offered at Satras and Temples in different parts of the state for the well-being of the next CM of Assam and a triumphant term.

The swearing-in ceremony is expected to be attended by BJP National President J P Nadda. The Chief Ministers of the 6 Northeastern states are also likely to be present. Oppositions leaders Badruddin Ajmal of AIUDF and Ripun Bora of Congress have also been invited.

Arrangements have been made at the Srimanta Sankardev International Auditorium following all COVID protocol.

Sarma's mother Mrinalini Devi, a well-known writer and his wife Riniki Bhuyan Sarma would be present at the swearing-in ceremony.
