TINSUKIA : The All Assam Bengali Parishad (AABP) alleged that the Bengali Hindus living in Assam are denied the benefits of government schemes after upgrade and exclusion from the NRC which locked the biometric details.

The AABP under the aegis of Tinsukia District Committee organised a press meet at Tinsukia Press Club on Monday do draw the attention of the Government on the issues faced by the Bengalis of Assam. Central committee secretary Jayanta Sengupta said that due to blocking of Aadhaar cards they were deprived of Government schemes like PM Awas Yojona, Ujjala Scheme, Ayushman Bharat etc. Those applied for Basundhara Scheme online after submitting all documents were rejected, stated Sengupta adding that though BJP-led Government came to power in 2014 and promised then to solve key Bengali issues, even after the lapse of 9 years, the Hindu Bengalis living in detention camps are leading a miserable life.

Among those present in the press meet were central committee working president Rangadulal Dey, organising secretary Uttam Das, district president Tablu Dey, district general secretary Surajit Das besides other office bearers.
