HOJAI: Hojai Deputy Commissioner Dr Sadnek Singh suspended the junior assistant of Ambari High School, Maijul Haque Mazumder with immediate effect pending departmental proceedings as per Rule of Assam Service (Discipline and Appeal) Rules, 1964 on Thursday.

Additionally, a computer assistant-cum-supervisor appointed by the vendor Hilal Ahmed Mazumder has also been terminated from service by the Aadhar vendor concerned with immediate effect, a press release stated. Notably, the action came in response to the media reports about Mazumder to be involved in taking bribes at the Ambari Aadhar centre. The DC directed the Circle Officer of Doboka, Tinku Moni Nath to conduct an inquiry into the incident and submit the report immediately. Moreover, the DC has also directed the Additional Deputy Commissioner, Aadhaar, and district consultant, Aadhar to reshuffle the computer assistants, supervisors within the centres of the district every 15 days to prevent any malpractices.

A helpline number 03674-284022 / 6003256039 has also been started for the public to lodge complaints in case anybody indulges in malpractices related to Aadhar card enrolment.
