Holy Brook Senior Secondary School conducted a workshop on New Education Policy 2020

TINSUKIA: As one of the components in G20 agenda and part of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, the Holy Brook Senior Secondary School, Tinsukia organized a day-long workshop under the aegis of CBSE on Foundational Literacy & Numeracy (FLN) of New Education Policy (NEP) on Thursday where institutional heads from 46 CBSE affiliated schools of Upper Assam participated.

Shamim M Hazarika, the principal of the host school, in her welcome address said that the NEP would address the challenging issues of universalization of primary education in the country. This was followed by lighting of ceremonial lamp by the dignitaries.

As key speaker, Subrahmanya K Sripada, principal of DPS Duliajan, presented an elaborate explanation on NIPUN Bharat, emphasizing on two vital parameters like DIKSHA FLN and NISHTHA FLN. He also said that as per NEP 2020, the highest priority of the education system will be to achieve universal foundational literacy and numeracy in all primary school by 2025 by identifying stage-wise targets and goals. The event also featured a lecture on G20 by Ravindranath D Savdeykar, principal of VKV Dibrugarh, which was followed by a panel discussion on NEP implementation with panellists E Seenivasan, principal of Assam Heights Public School, Dr Carina Ahmed, principal of BB Memorial School, and Sailesh Sharma, director of Our ABC Academy. Later, prizes were distributed to the winners of G20 online painting competition on the theme Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam or ‘One Earth, One Family, One Future’.
