Guwahati: Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh on Tuesday inaugurated the BOLD-QIT (Border Electronically Dominated QRT Interception Technique) project under the Comprehensive Integrated Border Management System (CIBMS), on the India-Bangladesh border in Dhubri district.
The Union Minister had visited Barmanpara Border Outpost in Dhubri in Assam to inaugurate the BOLD-QIT project under the ‘Comprehensive Integrated Border Management System’ Scheme.
Inaugurating the border fencing, Rajnath Singh said that there has been a huge development regarding the security of the state of Assam. He further said that if anyone wants to talk to him then they could come forward for discussion.
Also, the Union Minister in his tweet had stated that this project will help the Border Security Force (BSF) India in fully securing the unfenced river-rine area of the Brahmaputra & its tributaries on Indo-Bangladesh border.
Also, addressing the gathering in Dhubri the Union Minister said, “This technical solution is going to solve all the issues of infiltration in the country. Very few countries have this system. With the installation of this project, we can sit back hundreds of km’s away and keep a hawk eye on the international border bringing a respite to the BSF personnel. It is a blessing in disguise,” adding, "The BOLD-QIT system was first inaugurated in Kashmir for 9km and now the BOLD-QIT project has been completed for 61 kilometres."
He mentioned that he has first seen the project in Israel and now this is a Make in India and Make in BSF project.
It may be mentioned that the 61 kilometres of the border area in Dhubri where River Brahmaputra enters into Bangladesh consisted of vast char lands and innumerable river channels thus making border guarding in this area, a daunting task especially during the rainy season.
Furthermore, the Union Minister paid homage to Martyr CRPF soldier Maneshwar Basumatary who was killed at the Pulwama Terror attack and said that if anyone wants to harm the country they will not be forgiven.
The Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh was also joined by Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal in Dhubri today.
