"I Am Still Alive" Says Assam's Youtuber, After She Was Declared Dead by Various News Portals

The recent car accident that claimed the lives of five people at Besimari had a sudden twist as claimed "dead" youtuber turns out to be "alive"

GUWAHATI: In a strange twist in story, Youtuber Sania Akhtara, whom many local news channels declared dead in the recent tragic car accident at Besimari under Dalgaon police station in Assam's Darrang district, turns out she is still alive.

The accident claimed the lives of five people, including a child, and left three critically injured. 

Sania, who was declared dead in no time after the car mishap states that, released a statement stating "I am still alive". She and her family were in shock after seeing her pictures all over the news claiming her dead. She suffered through a mental trauma after the viral fake news. Her family has requested in no further involvement of her name or pictures in news. 

The accident that occurred in Besimari, Dalgaon district killed five people on spot after the Swift Dzire which was heading towards Mangaldoi, head on a collision with a truck in NH15. 

According to sources, the five persons were heading back home after shooting a YouTube video when the accident occurred. The injured were first treated at the Mangaldai Civil Hospital and were later shifted to the Guwahati Medical College and Hospital (GMCH). All of them are said to be in critical condition.

According to the National Crime Records Bureau's newest data, careless driving and overspeeding were two of the leading causes of road accidents in Assam in 2020. (NCRB).

According to NCRB data, overspeeding was the leading cause of traffic accidents in the state last year. A total of 3,293 overspeeding-related road incidents were reported, with 2,530 persons wounded and 1,377 people killed.

Last year, negligent or irresponsible driving was responsible for 1,169 traffic incidents in the state, resulting in 893 injuries and 462 deaths. In 2020, 491 traffic accidents occurred as a result of driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol, resulting in 345 injuries and 183 deaths. 902 traffic accidents occurred as a result of inclement weather, with 578 people wounded and 472 people killed.
