Assam: Businessman Shot Dead at Point-Blank Range in Bilasipara

Yesterday evening in the Bhairabganj, Bilasipara, Ali was shot at close range by unidentified miscreants.

GUWAHATI: Unidentified miscreants shot and killed a businessman on Wednesday night in Bilasipara, an area of Assam's Dhubri district. The victim, named Baser Ali, was a well-known and well-established businessman in the area.

According to sources, Ali was fatally shot at close range by unknown criminals last night in the Bhairabganj neighbourhood of Bilasipara.

Then the miscreants left the area and vanished into the night.

Local police responded to the event and arrived on the spot to begin an investigation. Additionally, the cops found an empty cartridge at the crime scene.

According to insiders, there is speculation that the businessman's death was caused by a money dispute. However, a full study will be conducted in order to determine the precise cause of the escalation.

Three people are being sought by the police in connection with the incident. Their identities have remained a secret till now.

On May 4, three dacoits broke into a businessman's home in the Dhemaji district of Assam and stole everything inside.

Santosh Dutta, a businessman, was the victim of the event in Sukapha Nagar in Dhemaji, where three armed robbers broke into his home and stole thousands of dollars worth of cash and gold jewellery.

When the criminals made an attempt to escape, the businessman's family bravely managed to capture one of the dacoits and turn him over to the police. One 9mm pistol that was in his hands was taken by the police.

A few unidentified individuals looted a vehicle in Bokakhat earlier on April 30 and took Rs. 10 lahks in cash.

It was alleged that the crime occurred at a weekly market in Bokakhat when the thieves stole the cash stored inside a Swift Dzire automobile after breaking the window.

The cash belonged to Nagaon resident and buffalo trader Abdus Sattar, a businessman. Dacoits robbed Abdus' vehicle as he was in the market purchasing a buffalo for his business.

Following a raid in the Bhowraguri, neighbourhood of Bijni, the Assam Police captured a group of at least eight dacoits on April 27 in the Chirang district. They were taken into custody by the police along with two automobiles, cash, mobile phones, SIM cards, and other objectionable stuff.

Habu Sheikh, Ashraf Ali, Baser Ali, Kutur Ali, Abdul Mazid, Anisur Alam, Mahbubur Rahman, and Rasidur Ali have all been named as the people who have been detained. They were also discovered to be in possession of multiple sharp weapons, including machetes, swords, and kukris, along with Rs. 15,550 in cash, eight SIM cards, and eight mobile phones. The TATA Magic van (registration number AS-19AC-4246) and a Xylo automobile (registration number AS-19D 7473) were also retrieved by the police from them.
