GUWAHATI: As a mark of respect and salute to the services and sacrifice of the veterans, Indian Army formation organized a Veterans’ Rally at Cooch Behar on Saturday. The rally was attended by more than 1200 veterans, including senior retired officers, Veer Naris and their dependents hailing from areas adjoining Cooch Behar and sub-divisions of Alipurduar district, stated a press release.
Deputy GOC inaugurated the rally and addressed the veterans. The Veterans’ Rally was an outreach to the veterans and Veer Naris in consonance with the motto of “Samman, Sehat, Sahuliyat aur Sahayta”. The latest policies on the welfare and pension benefits for veterans and their dependents were informed to the gathering. Veterans’ cell was established to proactively seek and address various anomalies concerning Veterans, Veer Naris and their dependents. The event was widely appreciated by all, stated a press release.
