Indian Army organizes blood donation drive in Udalguri: Blood Donor Day

MANGALDAI: Synchronizing with the worldwide celebration of Blood Donor Day, Indian Army organized a blood donation drive in the Udalguri district on Wednesday with the motto ‘Donate Blood: Save Life’. On this day, Army personnel, civil administration, civil hospital, tea estate, NHM and NCC cadets voluntarily donated blood to save precious human lives. This humanitarian drive by the Indian Army was undertaken in coordination with civil administration and social organizations to ensure that the donated blood units reach the needy patients on time.

In the day-long drive, the Army arranged 50 units of blood through voluntary donation for Udalguri District Blood Bank. On this occasion, the Indian Army conducted a blood donation awareness drive to motivate others to donate blood. Around 170 volunteer blood donors registered themselves with Udalguri Civil Hospital authorities for blood donation in case of an emergency. The Indian Army also conducted an awareness drive on various entry schemes to join the Indian Army.
