Indian Army organizes medical camp in Dhemaji district

TEZPUR: A medical camp was organized by troops of Siang Brigade of Red Shield Division under the aegis of Spear Corps in Jonai sub division in Dhemaji district on Tuesday. With the prime focus of not just providing free consultation and treatment, but also creating awareness among the locals about the importance of disease prevention, these localities, who have negligible access to quality and affordable health care, were the major beneficiaries. The camp witnessed a large turnout of patients including women, children and elderly villagers. More than 150 people of various age groups were benefited.

The locals as well as the civil administration officials appreciated Indian Army's effort. Bonhomie between locals and Indian Army has further been cemented.

Official sources said that a case of severe anaemia in a woman which was detected in the medical camp. She is 24 weeks pregnant and was neglected throughout her pregnancy, not having any medical supplements or help of any sort. Her urgent ultrasound was arranged for and catered to financially by the efforts of our troops and some additional support in the form of medicines and psychological counselling was also carried out., they said.
