TANGLA: In a bid to continue its community efforts, the 21st Battalion of the Madras Regiment, Red Horns Division, under its flagship initiative of Operation Sadbhavana 2021-22, carried out repair and renovation of classrooms of Lower Primary Schools in the Indo-Bhutan border villages of Nalapara and Rajagarh in Udalguri district, which were formally handed over to the school authorities on Saturday in the presence of local citizens and veterans, enabling the school to conduct classes under full capacity.
Pertinently, the classrooms had suffered severe damage in the early part of 2021 due to elephant menace which is a common sight in the Indo-Bhutan border villages of Udalguri district. "The conduct of Operation Sadbhavana has strengthened the bond between Army personnel and local community in paving the way for progress in the region, " said a village veteran attending the event.
