TEZPUR: The Indian Medical Association (IMA), Tezpur chapter observed World Health Day on April 7, with great enthusiasm.

The aim of observing World Health Day was to generate public awareness to foster the movement to create societies focused on well-being- a well-being economy aimed at human well-being, equity and ecological sustainability. The theme on the current year's World Health Day is 'Our Planet, Our Health'. The rally started from the main entrance of IMA House, Tezpur and moved through the city and ended at the main entrance gate of Kanaklata Civil Hospital. Eminent physicians, nursing staff and local people of the city took active part in the rally which was flagged off by Dr. Atul Kumar Kalita.

Dr. Atul Kumar Kalita, president, and Dr. Queen Gogoi, honorary secretary, IMA Tezpur Branch deliberated on various components viz. clean air, clean water, and clean food, healthy humans and healthy planet.
