Indian Red Cross Society offers materials to Mangaldai jail inmates

MANGALDAI: Office bearers of Darrang District Branch of Indian Red Cross Society (IRCS) in view of the situation arising out of COVID-19 among the inmates of Mangaldai District Jail on Saturday appeared before them with a helping hand and offered masks, towels, candles, soaps, sanitary napkins, tarpaulins etc. Treasurer of the IRCS Jayanta Sarma led the team and it consisted of volunteers namely Niranjan Saikia, Nipan Deka, Dibya Jyoti Deka, Chandana Bharati and Bhupen Deka and handed over the materials to the Superintendent of the jail Ranjit Burhagohain and Jailer Jyoti Prasad Deka.

The office bearers of Darrang district branch of IRCS earlier during the critical period of COVID-19 had offered a helping hand to the common people and also extended all assistance and cooperation to the district administration in tackling the pandemic in the district.
