Industry-Academia Conclave held in Nowgong College (Autonomous)

A two day long Industry-Academia Conclave and an alumni meet was held on Wednesday and Thursday at Nowgong College (Autonomous). The programme was organized only to shape the road-map of Industry-Academia linkage to cope in the NEP- 2020.

NAGAON: A two day long Industry-Academia Conclave and an alumni meet was held on Wednesday and Thursday at Nowgong College (Autonomous). The programme was organized only to shape the road-map of Industry-Academia linkage to cope in the NEP- 2020.

Dilip Kumar Bharatee, an alumnus of Nowgong College(A), Director of Ecomscience consulting Pvt. Ltd, alumnus of IIM Mumbai chaired the meeting which was virtually attended by MLA of Nagaon-Rupak Sharma and Dr Dipak Chand Jain, Vice chancellor Jio Institute of Management from Chicago, USA. Dr Santanu Borah, Professor of Management at University of North Alabama was another prominent personality who graced the occasion.

Dr Rajlakshmi Devi, Retired Prof. IASST, Guwahati, Nilotpal Baruah, CEO Techvariable, Aimoni Tumung, CEO Parijat Handloom Pamohi, Guwahati, Bandana Dekadoloi eminent fashion designer, Archana Bharatee, Ankur Goswami, Chandan Kumar Bora, Suresh Agarwal, Kishore Das, Dipali Das Mazumder, Manjul Baruah were present in the conclave.

Dr Santanu Borah said that the Assamese youngsters must develop the attitude of doing business and should think out of the box to become a successful entrepreneur. While addressing the objective of the proposed innomentor foundation, Dilip Bharatee presented a tentative road-map with six small companies to be set up in Nowgong college to encourage and facilitate the student community towards a new horizon of entrepreneurship. Under this organisation five businesses will be established. These are Janani, Kolakhar production, E-commerce, call centre and H R Business. Initially 60 students will get opportunity to do internship. Professor Dipak Jain and Professor Santanu Bora will participate virtually to mentor the initiative. Dilip Bharatee has agreed to coordinate the centre for two years. In the meeting Dilip Bharatee mentioned the need of an Airport and Management Institution in Nagaon. Rupak Sharma, President of Nowgong College Alumni Association and MLA, Nagaon has agreed to take initiative in this line. The meeting was moderated by Dr Nabaprasad Nath, general secretary of the alumni association where the principal of the college welcomed the guests. The meeting concluded with a resolution of bridging the gap between the producers and entrepreneurs in the near future.
