KOKRAJHAR: The BTC Journalists’ Association and Chirang district Press Club, under the sponsorship of the Information and Public Relations Department, BTC, will observe the National Day in the Bodoland Guest House premises, Kajalgaon in Chirang district on November 16 in a befitting manner.
As part of the programme, there will be flag hoisting in the morning on that day followed by homage and plantation of saplings to be planted by BN Patiri, DFO, Chirang. The medical camp will be inaugurated by Dr. Digendra Ramchiary, Joint Director, Health Services, Chirang. The annual general meeting of the BTC Journalists’ Association will be held where opening remarks will be given by Ansuma Mahilary, CHD, I&PR, BTC.
Deputy chief of BTC, Kampa Borgoyary will inaugurate the National Press Day as chief guest where the welcome address will be given by Gagan Ch. Narzary, president, RC, as well as DIPRO, Chirang, followed by the release of souvenir by Mritunjay Narzary, EM of BTC. After that, the prominent journalists of Chirang district will be felicitated by Gautam Talukdar, Chirang Deputy Commissioner.
A seminar on the topic ‘Journalist, interpretation: A challenge’ will be inaugurated by minister Chandan Brahma, and Prof. Samarjit Kachari, Department of Journalism and Mass Communication, Pondicherry Central University, Puducherry will be the resource person.
