Innovative idea competition held in Tezpur University

TEZPUR: Technology Enabling Centre (TEC), Tezpur University (TU) organized an Innovative Idea Competition at the Council Hall, Tezpur University.

Prof. Charu Lata Mahanta, Coordinator, TEC, delivered a welcome speech to accord a formal welcome to the gathering. It was followed by an inaugural address by chief guest Prof. DK Bhattacharyya, Pro Vice Chancellor, Tezpur University, address by Guest of Honour, Raj Kumar Mohnani, Assistant Director, Ministry of MSME, Sonitpur and invited guests. The Innovative Idea Competition started after the inauguration ceremony with the presentations of ideas by the contestants. The competition was judged by Prof. Sukhomay Pal, Nabaneet Bora, Biswajit Hazarika.

A total of 17 teams from Tezpur University participated along with five teams from other institutions (one each from Gargaon College, Silapathar College, Biswanath College, Puthimari H.S. School and B. Borooah College) who presented their innovative ideas. The teams were allotted five minutes to present their innovative ideas and 10 minutes for Q&A interacting with the judges. After the Idea Presentation session, the judges shared their thoughts on the event. Following that, the competition results were announced. The first prize was bagged by Priyam Jyoti Das of Puthimari HS School, Baihata Chariali, Assam for his idea of making various products like organic manure, animal feed, etc. using Taro Plant (Kosu). The second prize was awarded to Team ENRICH from Tezpur University and the third prize was awarded to Team Fruits Wale.
